We\u2019re here to fill you in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Pride Month Events<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>TransLash is a beneficiary of Stonewall Day 2021! Pride Live is hosting a global <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/788179671839396\/?acontext=%7B%22event_action_history%22%3A%5B%7B%22mechanism%22%3A%22search_results%22%2C%22surface%22%3A%22search%22%7D%5D%7D\">Livestream event on June 6th<\/a>, to help raise funds for TransLash and organizations like us in our fight to achieve intersectional liberation for all. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/explore\/tags\/swd2021\/\">#SWD2021<\/a> marks the end of the three-day concert event hosted by the award-winning artist series OutLoud: Raising Voices, in partnership with Pride Live. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/officiallyoutloud\/\">OutLoud: Raising Voices<\/a> will be held live in the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, with 3,500 live attendees, as well as being streamed on Twitch. The headliners for each day are all incredibly talented, as well as varied: we kick it off with a DJ set by artist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/sofitukker\/\">Sofi Tukker<\/a> on June 4th, followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/hayleykiyoko\/\">Hayley Kiyoko<\/a> on the 5th, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/adamlambert\/\">Adam Lambert<\/a> as the closing act on the 6th. All of the other acts are also incredible as well, be sure to check them out so you can sing along during the concert series! Marina &#8211; played by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/dani.vega.h\/\">Daniela Vega<\/a>, the first trans actress nominated for Best Actress at the Oscars (for this role) &#8211; has to prove the validity of her relationship with her partner who recently passed away suddenly to his family, who don\u2019t see her for who she is. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Fantastic-Woman-Daniela-Vega\/dp\/B079RMNS2B\">Watch <em>A Fantastic Woman<\/em> here.&nbsp;<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Disclosure<\/em>, a documentary available to watch on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.netflix.com\/title\/81284247\">Netflix<\/a>, is a deep dive into how transgender people have been depicted in Hollywood. You\u2019ll get to hear from stars like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/lavernecox\/\">Laverne Cox<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/mjrodriguez7\/\">MJ Rodriguez<\/a> and more, while gaining more information about the world of representation and what needs to be done to make it better. It stars <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/evie_m_official\/\">Evie MacDonald<\/a>, a trans actress who came out as trans at the young age of 9, which makes her easily identify with portraying a girl trying to figure out what it means to be herself in the school age. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hulu.com\/series\/first-day-e083506b-bad1-4664-966d-9d2fe83303cb\">Watch the first season on Hulu here.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Man Made<\/em> is a documentary that explores the ins and outs of the bodybuilding world at the world\u2019s only all-trans competition, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/ftmfitnessworld\/\">Trans FitCon<\/a> in Atlanta. It follows four men that open up about their journeys through and with self-discovery. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.manmadedoc.com\/\">Watch it here.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Passing<\/em> is a half-hour short documentary that follows the lives of three transgender men who have medically transitioned &#8212; specifically exploring the identity of being a black man and what it\u2019s like to live as one, when your friends don\u2019t know you are trans. <a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/119696471\">Watch the documentary here.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.strongislandfilm.com\/\"><em>Strong Island<\/em><\/a> is a true-crime documentary film on grief and the struggle of having lost a brother to violence without ever being given answers as to why or who did it. It is narrated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/yanceford\/\">Yance Ford<\/a>, a Black trans film producer and director (this was his directorial debut), and walks us through his experiences in a painful, yet incredible way. <em>Strong Island<\/em> made Ford both the first openly trans man and the first Black openly trans person to win an Emmy Award and an Academy Award. They are a long-term investment in housing solutions for people that need it, by working to build spaces that provide safe access to community programming, a hot meal, a shower, social safety net navigation &#8212; any and everything a person could need.
